Concept is great

Concept is great and the shelter pops up in a jiffy. Folding it back up is a challenge the first time, but after that it is easy - no harder than the pop-up sunshades for car windows. It is also difficult to fold the shelter back up if it is very windy on the beach (best to fold it flat and carry it to the parking lot to fold it back in the carrying case). It can also be a challenge to find the right wind direction to aim the tent so it doesn't flatten on one side - doesn't work great in very windy conditions - it will stay up put with sand in the pockets and won't fly down the beach, but, in wind, it won't stay erect - one side will want to flatten in the wind. Easy to fit two people in short beach chairs under the tent. Biggest complaint is that the shelter is fairly fragile (probably only good for one season). Fabric tends to rub against the sewn-in internal metal frame and frays and rips easily. I had to use ShoeGoo to repair rips in the seams around the frame after the first use. Very lightweight, easy to carry. Just wish the fabric was sturdier.

Perfect for us

I purchased this because I wanted to provide my very fair toddler with some shade while she played in the sand on the beach. This sunshelter was perfect. She loved it and played under it the entire time. The open sides allowed for a nice cross breeze and she didn't feel as if she was missing anything. It is small but several small children could fit under it. In fact, she made a couple of friends because they didn't want to stay under their tents that didn't allow them access to the sand. It could also fit an adult and a toddler in the shade. It popped up very easily and stayed put with just sand in the pockets. I could take it down in a matter of seconds on the beach after practicing at home several times. I recommend this if you want a little bit of shade for your child to play in.

There's really only enough room under this for one grown adult, but it sets up and folds down very easily, and provides enough shade for a man and his beer cooler. :)
