By Grizwald
I purchased this tent as an upgrade to something with more room compared my current trail dome 4 model Kelty tent. The first time setting it up was straight forward and without any issues. I set it up on a really windy day (gusts up to 35 mph) and the tent was stable with only staking out the fly. The poles are really beefy and the fabric of this tent is noticeably heavier than other model tents I have owned in the past. The ventilation of the mesh structure of the main body is very good, even with the fly on. The vestibule is absolutely huge and can easily accommodate 2 lawn chairs.I am 6 feet tall and could walk around most of the interior without having to crouch over. The halo pole brings the side walls out farther so they are closer to vertical than sloping in towards the top.The small access door in the back is a handy feature and is a nice place to put shoes to keep them out of the main tent area.I would highly recommend the foot print for this tent. Aside from protecting the floor it will keep the dirt down as well.Hats off to Kelty for making another fine product!

Hey Gang!Sometimes I have to gawk at people's reviews! I own the Kelty Greenriver 4 tent, the earlier version of the Palisade. I have owned it for over 3 years now and used it over 60 nights total. What a great tent! The Palisade is a definite improvement over my tent, which is a great tent. Aluminum poles over fiberglass, new dual entry vestibule so that entrance zippers are easier to access. A rear door for storage, or I guess an "emergency" exit. To the reviewer who spoke of draftiness, no one can have it both ways. The ability to "breathe" insures that condensation is minimized and that is a big deal!! Anyone who purchases this tent is going to love the features. Staked out correctly, it handles wind and rain with the best tents made! It looks to me as though Kelty hit a home run on this design. Buy it!

By CMCMOM
I bought this for a camping trip in August. My only complaint is the entirely mesh interior structure. I know this seems to be the new trend with tents, but if you want any privacy at all, you must keep the fly on the tent at all times. If you're in the tent during the day, there is no easy way to raise up a section of the fly to allow for cross ventilation. At night, even with the fly securely closed, the design allows drafts to enter through the front bottom of the fly and the mesh interior provides no barrier. When the temps drop, this is not pleasant.
